Computing Work

As I noted in the introduction I'm active in computing in both a work and hobby capacity. This despite the fact I was always told never to mix my work and my hobby, and I've ended up doing this in both of the things I do.

I currently work part-time in the Division of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh on the DICE project. The DICE project has resulted in much of the recent work listed on these page, which the University has agreed to make available under an Open Source license.

My current interests are in authentication and directory services, utilising LDAP and Kerberos to build Unix infrastructures. Previously I've done a variety of work on printing and web technology, including developing a CVS based web publishing system, and doing a variety of work on web indexing.

Software and patches that I've developed are available from these pages.
